The standard
Every Tasker here clears this first
We don’t show star ratings until real customers have reviewed real jobs. What’s true today is the standard everyone met to get here — so that’s what we show.

Before you post
What to include when you post a cleaning task
Five things decide the price you are offered. A post that carries them gets firm offers; a post without them gets questions, and then a different price on the day.
- Which kind of cleanA standard reset, a deep clean, a move-out clean for a landlord inspection, or a recurring visit. These are different lengths of work rather than different prices for the same work.
- The state it is inWhen it was last cleaned, and whether there are pets, smoke, a party to undo or construction dust. Someone who knows what they are walking into quotes once instead of twice.
- The things you would noticeName the two or three that would bother you if they were skipped — inside the oven, the shower glass, the fridge, the balcony, the window tracks. Everything else is assumed.
- Supplies and equipmentWhether you want them to bring their own products and vacuum or use yours, and anything that must not be used — on stone, on hardwood, or around pets and allergies.
- Anything out of the ordinaryThree floors of stairs, a basement unit, a finished attic, a room nobody has opened in a year, or a second property on the same visit.
Two photographs — the kitchen and the bathroom — tell a Tasker more than a paragraph, and they are the shortest route to an offer that does not change on the day.

What to know about cleaning
Cleaning is the easiest service to buy badly, because the price you are quoted varies most for reasons nobody explains. A one-bedroom apartment and a three-bedroom house are not the same task, and neither is a standard tidy versus the clean a landlord signs off on. This page sets out what each kind of clean actually involves and how to get a price before anyone comes to your door.
The biggest driver is not square footage — it is what kind of clean you are asking for. A standard or recurring clean assumes the place is already in reasonable order: surfaces, floors, bathrooms, kitchen, done in a couple of hours. A deep clean adds the things a standard clean skips on purpose — inside the oven and fridge, behind and under furniture, baseboards, window tracks, grout. An end-of-lease or move-out clean is a deep clean with a specific audience: it has to satisfy a landlord or property manager, which in most rentals means the oven, the fridge, the inside of every cupboard and the balcony. Post-renovation cleaning is different again, because construction dust settles into everything for days after the trades leave, and it usually needs two passes.
On Taskly you describe the job once and cleaners send fixed-price offers. You are comparing complete prices, not hourly estimates that move on the day, and the money stays with Taskly until the work is done. If you are not sure which kind of clean you need, describe the state of the place and let the offers tell you — a cleaner who reads "moving out on the 30th, landlord inspection" will quote the right job.

What a standard clean includes
- Floors vacuumed and mopped throughout
- Kitchen surfaces and the outside of appliances
- Bathrooms — shower, toilet, sink, mirrors
- Dusting, sills and a general tidy reset
- Bins emptied; linens changed on request
A deep clean adds what a standard one skips on purpose: inside appliances, grout, baseboards and window tracks.
Try nowWhat moves the price
- Home size, and how many bathrooms
- Condition — the first clean after a long gap takes longer
- Add-ons: oven, fridge, inside windows
What to ask before you accept
- Exactly what is included, and what is not
- Do they bring their own equipment and products?
- How long will it take, and how many people?
- Have they worked in a building like yours?
- Is there a better rate for a recurring visit?
A good Tasker answers most of these in the offer itself.

Questions
Frequently asked
Answers to what people actually search for.
Do cleaners bring their own supplies?
Many cleaners bring their own vacuum, mop and products, and say so in the offer. If you would rather they used yours — a stone counter needing a specific product, or a scent sensitivity at home — say so in the task.
How long does a professional clean take?
A regular clean on a two-bedroom apartment takes two to three hours; a three-bedroom house runs three to four. Deep and move-out cleans take four to eight, and cleaners often work in pairs to finish a whole house inside one afternoon.
What is the difference between a deep clean and a regular clean?
A regular clean maintains what is visible — floors, surfaces, bathrooms, kitchen. A deep clean reaches what regular cleans skip: inside appliances, behind furniture, baseboards, window tracks, grout and light fittings. Most homes want one seasonally.
What does post-renovation cleaning involve?
Construction dust is fine enough to settle into vents, fabric and window tracks, then resurface for days after the crew leaves. A proper post-reno clean uses a HEPA vacuum rather than a domestic one, and it usually needs two passes to stop the dust returning.
How often should you book a cleaner?
Fortnightly suits most households and keeps the cost predictable. Weekly makes sense with children, pets or a shared home; monthly works if you maintain things between visits. The first clean after a long gap takes longer, so consistency saves money over a year.
