Why getting help is worth it
Greater Toronto’s households carry a heavy invisible workload. Statistics Canada measured the combined paid-plus-unpaid daily work of core working-age adults (25–54) at 7.6–7.8 hours — effectively a second near-full-time job — and valued Canada’s unpaid household work at $581.6 billion in 2019 by the replacement-cost method, about $23,240 per person per year. Time is the scarcest thing most GTA households have. Taskly exists to give some of it back: instead of trading your evening for a chore, you describe the task, accept a fixed-price offer from a handpicked local, and reclaim the hours. You only pay when it’s done.
Questions, answered.
What is Taskly?
Taskly is a Toronto/GTA online marketplace where you can get almost anything done — home tasks, errands, lessons, events, wellness, newcomer help, and digital work. You describe a task by typing, speaking, or snapping a photo; handpicked local Taskers send fixed-price offers; you pick one and pay only when the job’s done, with your money held safe in escrow the whole way.
How does Taskly work?
In four steps: (1) describe your task by text, voice or photo — AI helps classify and price it; (2) handpicked local Taskers send you fixed-price offers; (3) you pick an offer and pay, with the money held safely in escrow; (4) you only release payment once you confirm the job is done. You agree the price up front and it’s held in escrow the whole way.
Is Taskly safe?
Yes — Taskly is built to be safe by design. Every Tasker is personally interviewed and approved by our founder before they can make offers. Your money is held in escrow and only released when you confirm the job is done. Phone numbers are masked, a 4-digit door code confirms the right person showed up, and everything stays on Taskly so there’s recourse if something goes wrong.
What can I post on Taskly?
Almost anything legal and safe — across roughly 131 categories. That includes cleaning, handyman and home repairs, cooking and meal prep, moving and hauling, organizing, tutoring and lessons, AI and tech help, event and celebration help, wellness and senior care, newcomer and settlement help, pet care, and digital work like design or resumes.
What does Taskly cost?
It’s free to post a task and compare offers. When you accept an offer you pay the agreed price plus a small service fee (max 4.9% or $2.99), shown in full before you pay. Taskly’s commission is 20% (HST-inclusive) from the Tasker’s side; Taskers keep about 80% plus 100% of any tips.
Where is Taskly available?
Taskly serves the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) in Ontario, Canada — including Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Markham, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Oakville, Burlington, and the surrounding municipalities.
How do Taskers get paid — and how do I earn on Taskly?
Taskers get paid securely after the job is done, with the customer’s payment already held in escrow. You keep about 80% of the agreed price plus 100% of tips, and you never pay for leads — you only pay Taskly’s commission when you actually get paid. To start earning, apply to become a Tasker; we verify your ID and review every application before you can make offers.
How is Taskly different from TaskRabbit, Jiffy, or Kijiji?
On the marketplace you get a fixed-price offer agreed up front, with your money held in escrow until you confirm the job’s done. Our commission is 20% (HST-inclusive), paid from the Tasker’s side, and the poster pays a small service fee shown before checkout. Unlike Jiffy, which is home-maintenance only, Taskly handles almost anything. And unlike Kijiji or Facebook Marketplace, Taskly holds your money in escrow, masks phone numbers, reviews every Tasker, and keeps everything on Taskly so you have recourse if something goes wrong.
