Two people and a van
The couch, the bed frame and the eleven boxes — lifted, moved and set down where they go.

Local knowledge
Priced for how the GTA actually lives
Four things that change a handyman quote here, and nowhere else.
Plaster and lath
Old walls do not take a plug the same way
Much of the older GTA stock is lath and plaster rather than drywall, so anchors, shelves and TV mounts need different fixings and a stud finder that reads through it. A fixing that holds in a 2005 subdivision can pull straight out of a 1920s wall.
Condo rules
What you may drill into is not up to you
GTA condo corporations restrict work on demising and fire-rated walls, and many require notice for anything structural. It is why the same TV mount is a half-hour job in a house and a conversation in a tower.
Winter jobs
Half the list only appears in November
Weather stripping, door sweeps, storm windows and draught proofing are a real GTA category that a milder market barely has, and they are worth doing before the first cold rather than during it.
Basement apartments
A second suite has its own requirements
A large share of GTA homes have a basement unit, and work there touches egress, smoke separation and permitted alterations in ways a spare room does not.
What a handyman visit usually includes
- Labour for the agreed list of jobs
- Standard fixings, anchors and consumables
- Their own tools for general work
- Tidying and taking away offcuts
- Telling you which jobs need a licensed trade instead
Materials like timber, tile or a replacement fitting are usually bought separately.
Try nowWhat moves the price
- How many jobs, and whether they share tools and setup
- Wall construction — plaster and lath is slower than drywall
- Working at height, or anything needing two people
- Condo restrictions and lift bookings
- Whether materials are supplied or bought on the day
- Anything that turns out to need a licensed trade
Worth asking before you accept an offer
- Is this priced hourly or for the whole list?
- Do you supply the fixings and consumables?
- The walls are plaster — do you have the right anchors?
- Is there a minimum call-out?
- Which of these jobs actually needs a licensed trade?
- Can you take the offcuts and packaging away?
Three steps
How Taskly works
- 1
Post your task
Say what needs doing and when. Free, two minutes, no account until you accept.
- 2
Compare offers
Verified Taskers send a price and an approach. You see the whole cost up front.
- 3
Choose, then pay
Pick who fits. The money is held and released only when you confirm it’s done.
No lead fees on either side — Taskers don’t pay to make an offer, so you’re not paying for someone’s cost of finding you.
Why Taskly
What you can actually count on
Reviewed before they offer
ID check, phone verification, a real interview and a real photo.
Priced with a method
Ranges come from a versioned, dated rate table — never an invented average.
Built for the GTA
Lift access, month-end crunch and salt season are in the pricing, not surprises.
Pay only when done
The money is held by Taskly and released after you confirm the work.

Frequently asked
GTA-specific answers to what people actually search for.
Is it cheaper to book several jobs at once?
Substantially, because setup and travel dominate small work. Five tasks in one visit cost far less than five visits. Post the whole list rather than the most urgent item.
What can a handyman not legally do?
Alter electrical circuits, open a gas line, or do plumbing inside the wall — those need licensed trades. Replacing a tap or a trap under the sink is ordinary handyman work.
Do they bring materials?
Usually fixings and consumables, rarely the parts. If a specific fixture is going in, say so and agree who is buying it before the day.
