Four things that change a lawn care quote here, and nowhere else.
A short season
Roughly April to November, and both ends are a crush
Nothing happens before the ground thaws and it ends with the leaves. That compresses the whole year into two rush fortnights — the first warm spell and the fall cleanup — and the price you pay reflects how far into the rush you booked.
Green bin limits
City collection will not take a whole spring cleanup
A GTA yard-waste collection takes a set number of bags or bundles, and a real cleanup routinely produces more than one pickup will accept. Decide up front whether the Tasker hauls it, stages it across two collections, or leaves it bagged — that single answer moves the price more than most people expect.
September, not April
Cool nights and warm soil are the seeding window
Aeration and overseeding work here in September because new grass establishes before winter; spring seeding usually loses to crabgrass. A thin, compacted lawn is an August booking for September work, not an April one.
Road salt
The boulevard edge dies every winter
Salt spray from GTA road and sidewalk clearing kills the strip nearest the street, which is why so many lawns here need edge repair in spring that a lawn two hours north does not.
What a lawn visit usually includes
- Mowing to an agreed height, not the lowest setting
- Trimming edges along walks, beds and the driveway
- Blowing clippings off hard surfaces
- Mulching in place, or bagging when growth is heavy
- A note on anything that looks wrong — grubs, fungus, drainage

When should I book the spring cleanup?
Earlier than feels necessary — March rather than the first warm weekend. The fortnight when everyone notices their lawn is the fortnight prices and lead times peak.
My lawn looks dead in August. Is it?
Usually not. Summer dormancy is normal in the GTA and the lawn generally recovers with cooler nights. Aeration and overseeding in September do more than watering harder in August.
Weekly or bi-weekly?
In peak growth they are different jobs — bi-weekly usually means clippings have to be removed rather than mulched, and that shows up in the price.
