Four things that change a assembly quote here, and nowhere else.
Condo delivery
The box has to get upstairs first
GTA towers want flat-pack deliveries through the loading dock in a booked window, and a box that arrives outside it waits. Assembly bookings here fail on delivery timing far more often than on the build.
Small footprints
Building it in the room it lives in
A downtown condo rarely has a spare floor to lay parts out on, so the job is done around furniture in the room itself. It takes longer, and it is why a photo of the space is worth more than the model number.
Old doorframes
Assembled elsewhere means it does not fit through
Victorian and post-war GTA doorframes are narrower than the furniture built for them. Anything assembled in the wrong room has to come apart again, which is a real and avoidable cost.
Packaging volume
The cardboard is a second job
A wardrobe generates more packaging than a City recycling collection takes at once. Deciding up front whether it is flattened and left or hauled away changes the price more than the build does.
What an assembly visit usually includes
- Unboxing and checking the parts against the manual
- Building to the instructions, in the room it will live in
- Levelling and anti-tip anchoring where the maker requires it
- Positioning the finished item where you want it
- Flattening the packaging
Taking the cardboard away is usually quoted separately — one wardrobe exceeds a City recycling pickup.

How long does a wardrobe take?
Considerably longer than a dresser, and it usually wants two people for the doors. Give the model name when you post — that is the difference between an offer that holds and one that changes on the day.
Will the Tasker take the cardboard away?
Some will, some flatten and stack it, some leave it. Agree it in the offer thread. Most Toronto buildings will not take a full flat-pack of cardboard to the bin room in one trip.
Can they collect the item from the store?
Some Taskers offer pickup and some do not, and it changes the price meaningfully because it adds a vehicle and a round trip. Say whether the item is already with you.
