The standard
Every Tasker here clears this first
We don’t show star ratings until real customers have reviewed real jobs. What’s true today is the standard everyone met to get here — so that’s what we show.
- ID verifiedGovernment ID checked before anyone can make an offer.
- Phone verifiedA one-time code, so the number on the offer is a real one.

Only on Taskly
One post, the whole situation handled
Several jobs bought as one outcome — one Tasker, one price to agree, no coordinating three trades yourself.
Open and running
The pool opened, the equipment started and checked, the water balanced and the first couple of weeks of service included — so it is swimmable rather than merely uncovered.
Post this taskThe whole back yard, ready
Pool opened, the deck washed and the furniture out, the surrounding beds tidied and the enclosure gate checked so it still self-latches.

What to know about pool maintenance
A pool that closes for part of the year has two hard edges, and almost everything expensive that happens to one happens at those edges. Opening and closing are not routine visits; they are the two tasks that decide whether the pool survives the months it sits closed and whether the water is usable when the season starts. Between them, weekly or fortnightly service is genuinely routine — chemistry, skimming, vacuuming, backwashing — and it is the part most people can do themselves if they want to.
Opening is where you find out. A well-closed pool opens clear and balanced in a few days; a badly closed one opens green, and clearing it means shocking, running the filter continuously and sometimes draining and refilling — which on a city water supply is not a small bill. Booking the opening early matters for the same reason booking the closing early does: every pool wants the same two weeks at each end of the season.

After you post, here’s exactly what happens
- 1Offers arriveEach one carries a price and an approach, from verified Taskers only.
- 2Ask before you chooseEquipment, timing, whether they’ve worked in a building like yours.
- 3Accept oneYour payment is held by Taskly. Nothing is paid out yet.
- 4Confirm when it’s doneThe money releases and your receipt arrives by email.
What a closing usually covers
- Level lowered below the returns and skimmer
- Lines blown clear and plugged
- Cover fitted and strapped down
Repairs found during closing, cover replacement and heater servicing are separate — this visit protects the pool, it does not fix it.
Try nowWhat moves the price
- Pool size and whether it is in-ground or above-ground
- Opening, closing, or a regular service visit
- The state the pool is in — a green opening is a different job
- Equipment: heater, salt system, automatic cover, water features
- Cover type, and whether it is a tarp, mesh or a safety cover
- Access to the equipment pad and to the pool itself
- How far into the booking window you are
Worth asking before you agree
- Are the lines blown out and plugged, or just drained down?
- If it opens green, what does bringing it back cost?
- Are chemicals included in the price or billed on top?
- How soon after opening will the water actually be swimmable?
- Will you flag anything that needs repair rather than just closing over it?

Every kind of pool maintenance
Questions
Frequently asked
Answers to what people actually search for.
Can I do the weekly maintenance myself?
Many people do, and it is the reasonable part to take on — skimming, brushing, vacuuming, testing and adjusting chemistry, backwashing the filter. The opening and closing are the ones worth having done, because those are where a mistake costs equipment rather than a weekend.
My pool opened green. Is that a problem?
It is a task rather than a disaster. Green usually means the chemistry lapsed under the cover while it was closed. Recovery is shocking, running the filter continuously for several days and rebalancing; occasionally, if it has gone far enough, a partial drain and refill. Say it is green when you post — it is a different visit from a routine opening.
