Why do chef work through Taskly

Free to browse and quote

No lead fees. You never pay to see a task or to make an offer on one.

You set your price

The posted budget is the poster’s starting point. Your offer is yours.

Payment secured upfront

The poster’s money is held by Taskly before you start the work.

20% service fee

Charged only when you complete a task. Nothing is deducted for quoting.

Paid after 3 days

Payment releases when the poster confirms, or automatically 3 days after the work is done.

Cook for people who booked you, not a service

Private cheffing usually means either an agency margin or a marketing problem. Tasks here come from somebody who has decided they want a cook on a date, with a number attached. You read the brief, the headcount and the kitchen, and decide whether it is worth the day.

What the tasks actually look like

Dinner parties, meal prep for a week, a birthday somebody does not want to spend in the kitchen. Occasionally dietary work where the constraint is the whole brief. Posters say the headcount and usually the kitchen, which is the part that decides whether a menu is possible.

Questions

Chef work on Taskly

The ones people in this trade actually ask before they sign up.

Do I shop for ingredients?

Agree it in the task. Some posters shop to your list, some want you to buy and bill it back. Put whichever it is in your offer with the amount, because a surprise grocery total is the thing that sours an otherwise good booking.

Do I need food-handler certification?

Ontario requires it for many food-service settings, and private clients ask. Name the certificate in your offer rather than the word.

What if the kitchen is not equipped for the menu?

Ask before you accept. A menu that assumed two ovens is a problem you find at six o’clock otherwise.

Taskly is new in the GTA. Fewer Taskers means your offer actually gets read instead of sitting behind two hundred others — and the people here first will hold the first reviews.

Every word of that is true, and it is the argument no big platform can copy.
