About the role

As a Marketplace Operations Manager at Taskly (you may know the role as Supply Operations Manager or City Operations Manager), you keep each city balanced. That means enough approved Taskers in the right trades for the tasks people post, and enough tasks to keep those Taskers busy. You work from the data, the Tasker approval queue and real conversations with Taskers and posters, often on the same day. No two cities look alike, so the job is part analysis and part judgment.

You would work with the founder, support, trust and safety, and the engineers who build Tasker onboarding and approval. Six months in, success looks like a launch playbook you have used for at least one new city and shorter waits in the approval queue. It also looks like a weekly view of supply and demand that the whole team reads.

What you’ll do

  • Track supply and demand by city and category every week: tasks posted, offers per task, time to the first offer and tasks that get none.
  • Run the Tasker approval queue against clear criteria, so applicants hear back quickly and decisions stay consistent. Review declined and paused cases weekly for patterns.
  • Recruit and activate Taskers in the categories that are short in a city, working with sales and marketing. Know which trade, which neighborhood and which week.
  • Watch quality through ratings, repeat issues and no-shows. Coach, pause or remove Taskers following written rules.
  • Plan and run city launches: which categories open first, how many approved Taskers you need and what posters see on day one.
  • Work with support on disputes. Turn patterns into product fixes, such as a task the classifier sorted wrongly or a price suggestion that missed.
  • Write the playbooks for approval, launches and quality so a new teammate can run them.

What you’ll need

  • 3+ years in marketplace, logistics, gig-platform or local-services operations, such as supply, city operations, onboarding or quality.
  • SQL and spreadsheet skills strong enough to build a weekly dashboard in Metabase, Looker Studio, Tableau or similar.
  • Experience running a launch, or an approval or onboarding queue, against a target. You can describe what you changed and what happened.
  • Sound judgment on trust calls: when to approve, pause or decline, and how to write the reason.
  • Process documents that a new teammate can follow without asking you, and that you update when reality changes.

Education: A degree is welcome but not required. Operations you have actually run matters more.

Nice to have

  • Experience at a marketplace (Airbnb, Uber, Urban Company, Swiggy, Airtasker, TaskRabbit, Upwork) or another two-sided product.
  • Having launched or run operations in more than one country, such as India and Canada.
  • Python or scripting experience for automating operations work.
  • Comfort making calls with incomplete data and revisiting them when the numbers arrive.

About Taskly

Taskly is a marketplace for getting anything done. Someone posts a task in their own words — typed, spoken or as a photo — and people who have been reviewed and approved send offers at a firm price. They pick one, and it gets done: a TV mounted, a website built, a parent taught to use their phone. We’re live in Canada and India and opening to more countries, built by a small team that works remotely across India, the US, Canada and the UAE.
