About the role

The Founder's Office Associate at Taskly (a role many companies call Chief of Staff or Strategy & Operations Associate) works directly with the founder on whatever matters most this month, and finishes it. That might be a new-market launch, a board-style memo, a hiring push or a cross-team project that has no owner yet. You are the person who makes sure it gets done.

You would work with every team: engineering, operations, sales and finance, across India, the US, Canada and the UAE. Six months in, success looks like one launch or project you ran end to end and memos the founder trusts enough to decide from. It also looks like fewer loose ends, because you closed them. The work changes every quarter, so it suits someone who learns fast and likes finishing things.

What you’ll do

  • Run cross-functional projects end to end. Set the goal, make the plan, chase blockers and send a weekly update until it ships. Close the loop when it does.
  • Plan new-market and new-city launches with operations, sales and engineering: checklists, owners, payment and legal differences, and a go or no-go review.
  • Write board-style memos and one-page decision briefs covering the question, the options, the numbers, a recommendation and what would change it. Write for a reader with five minutes.
  • Support hiring with the talent team. Write role briefs, join the 45-minute conversations and help design the paid trial day for each role.
  • Keep the founder’s priorities, decisions and follow-ups in one place, and run the weekly team meeting in the shared window, then circulate notes the same day.
  • Pull numbers with SQL or Sheets, and research competitors and markets, to answer the founder’s open questions.
  • Take on the odd job nobody owns yet, such as vendor research, a pricing check or the first draft of a policy.

What you’ll need

  • 2+ years in a chief of staff, founder’s office, consulting, startup operations, product operations or strategy role.
  • A writing sample: one clear page that ends in a recommendation, which you can show us.
  • Comfort with numbers, including Sheets models, basic SQL and sanity-checking someone else’s estimate.
  • A project you drove across teams without formal authority, and finished. Tell us how you kept people moving.
  • Discretion with sensitive information, and judgment about what to bring to the founder and what to handle yourself.

Education: A degree is welcome but not required. Projects you finished and the memos you wrote matter more.

Nice to have

  • Experience at a marketplace (Airbnb, Uber, Urban Company, Swiggy, Airtasker, TaskRabbit, Upwork) or another two-sided product.
  • Having helped launch a product or an operation in a new country.
  • Experience on a remote team that spans several time zones.
  • A strong writing habit, such as a newsletter, essays or published case studies.

About Taskly

Taskly is a marketplace for getting anything done. Someone posts a task in their own words — typed, spoken or as a photo — and people who have been reviewed and approved send offers at a firm price. They pick one, and it gets done: a TV mounted, a website built, a parent taught to use their phone. We’re live in Canada and India and opening to more countries, built by a small team that works remotely across India, the US, Canada and the UAE.
