About the role

As a Customer Support Specialist at Taskly (you may know the role as Customer Support Executive, Support Agent or Customer Experience Associate), you help posters and Taskers by chat, email and phone when something about a task needs a person. Zen, Taskly’s AI support assistant, answers first, and you take over the conversations it hands off. They range from an unclear offer to a no-show or a refund request.

You would work with the founder and the operations side, and you would be the first to notice what keeps going wrong. Six months in, success looks like fast, kind and correct replies, with refunds and disputes handled by the written policy. It also looks like a short list of fixes you helped get made. You will learn the whole marketplace quickly, because every problem passes through you.

What you’ll do

  • Answer posters and Taskers by chat, email and phone, in plain language, with the answer in the first line. Keep a friendly tone, and never leave a message waiting without saying what happens next.
  • Pick up Zen hand-offs with the full conversation in front of you, so nobody has to repeat themselves. Resolve the issue or pass it on clearly.
  • Apply the refunds and disputes policy: gather both sides, check the messages and the door-code arrival record, and prepare the case for a decision.
  • Help Taskers with approval status, Stripe Identity checks, payouts and ratings. Help posters with payment and cancellations.
  • Tag every conversation by what went wrong and which category it involved, so patterns show up in reports.
  • Improve Zen by flagging answers that were wrong or unclear. Write the help article that would have prevented the contact.
  • Escalate safety concerns and suspected fraud immediately, following the written steps. Do not wait for someone to ask.

What you’ll need

  • 0–2 years in customer support, a service desk, a contact center or any role where you solved other people’s problems in writing.
  • Excellent written English, and clear spoken English on calls, including with people who speak it as a second language.
  • Comfort with a helpdesk tool such as Zendesk, Freshdesk, Intercom or Help Scout, and with typing quickly and accurately (and a willingness to learn ours).
  • Calm, fair judgment with upset people, and the ability to follow a policy while saying when it does not fit.
  • Reliable internet, a quiet place to take calls and availability for the shared 8:30–10:30 am Eastern window.

Education: A degree is welcome but not required. How you handle a difficult conversation matters more.

Nice to have

  • Support experience at a marketplace (Airbnb, Uber, Urban Company, Swiggy, Airtasker, TaskRabbit, Upwork) or another two-sided product.
  • Experience working with AI-assisted support tools, or writing help articles.
  • A second language such as Hindi, Arabic, French or Punjabi.
  • Experience supporting customers across time zones or in more than one country.

About Taskly

Taskly is a marketplace for getting anything done. Someone posts a task in their own words — typed, spoken or as a photo — and people who have been reviewed and approved send offers at a firm price. They pick one, and it gets done: a TV mounted, a website built, a parent taught to use their phone. We’re live in Canada and India and opening to more countries, built by a small team that works remotely across India, the US, Canada and the UAE.
