About the role

The Strategic Partnerships Manager at Taskly (many teams call it Partnerships Manager or Business Development Manager, Partnerships) builds the relationships that bring posters and Taskers to Taskly without ad spend. A partner might be a payments company, a property-management group, a retail chain, a community network or a university. You find the few worth the effort, agree what each side gives and keep the partnership working week after week. It suits someone who prefers a few strong partners to a long list of weak ones.

You would work with the founder on which partners to pursue, and with marketplace operations on whether a partner brings the right Taskers for the right city. Six months in, success looks like two or three live partnerships, each with a clear number attached. It also looks like a repeatable way to pick, pitch and run the next ones.

What you’ll do

  • Map and rank partner categories in India, Canada and the UAE: payments and fintech, property managers, retail, community groups, colleges and universities.
  • Open conversations with senior contacts. Pitch a specific joint plan in a one-page proposal that says what each side gives and gets.
  • Negotiate commercial terms, including referral arrangements, co-marketing and limits on sharing data, with legal and compliance input.
  • Launch each partnership with a tracked link, a partner page, a 30-day plan and one named owner on the partner’s side.
  • Measure each partnership on what it brings, such as applications, approved Taskers and tasks posted. End the ones that do not work, and say so plainly to the partner.
  • Adapt every offer to the market. Payment goes directly in India, and Taskly holds it until the task is done in Canada.
  • Work with marketing, operations and engineering on what each partner needs, from tracking to a co-branded page.

What you’ll need

  • 5+ years in partnerships, business development or enterprise sales, with at least one partnership you built from first call to signed agreement.
  • A result you can state in numbers: sign-ups, revenue or active users that a partnership brought in.
  • Experience negotiating referral, revenue-share or co-marketing terms, and writing simple agreements with legal review.
  • Ease with senior stakeholders at larger organizations, and the patience to keep a slow deal moving, with a follow-up rhythm that never turns into nagging.
  • Working knowledge of at least one partner sector: payments or fintech, property, retail or higher education.

Education: A degree is welcome but not required. Partnerships you built and what they produced matter more.

Nice to have

  • Partnerships experience at a marketplace (Airbnb, Uber, Urban Company, Swiggy, Airtasker, TaskRabbit, Upwork) or another two-sided platform.
  • Relationships with university career or entrepreneurship offices in more than one of our countries.
  • Experience with payments partners, affiliate programs or referral platforms.
  • A track record of ending a partnership well when the numbers did not justify it.

About Taskly

Taskly is a marketplace for getting anything done. Someone posts a task in their own words — typed, spoken or as a photo — and people who have been reviewed and approved send offers at a firm price. They pick one, and it gets done: a TV mounted, a website built, a parent taught to use their phone. We’re live in Canada and India and opening to more countries, built by a small team that works remotely across India, the US, Canada and the UAE.
