About the role
Taskly is looking for a Business Development Intern, often listed as a BD Intern, Sales Intern or Growth Intern, for a remote, six-month internship. You will help build the supply side of a task marketplace. That means finding capable people to become Taskers, and partners who can point them our way.
You will work with the founder on outreach, research and tracking, from a first message to a Tasker’s approved profile. Taskers are reviewed and approved before they can send offers, so the goal is the right people in the right cities, not the most people. The team is remote across India, the US, Canada and the UAE and shares an 8:30–10:30 am Eastern window. By month six, you should run the pipeline for one city or category, with a clear record of who you reached and what happened.
What you’ll do
- Find and contact people who would make strong Taskers, such as tutors, cleaners, handypeople, video editors and web developers, through LinkedIn, community groups and referrals.
- Write short, personal outreach messages and follow-ups, and test which opening lines get replies.
- Walk new Taskers through the application steps, including their profile, identity verification with Stripe Identity and review, and help anyone who gets stuck.
- Research partnership leads such as colleges, community groups, property managers and small businesses, with a one-page summary and a suggested first ask for each.
- Keep a CRM in HubSpot, Notion or Google Sheets accurate, with every contact, stage, next step and date.
- Compare supply and demand by city and category, and tell the team where tasks are posted but few Taskers exist.
- Send a weekly report on messages sent, replies, applications started and Taskers approved, with what you would change.
What you’ll need
- Proof that you can persuade people: a college-fest sponsorship, a society you ran, a campus-ambassador role, a freelance client or a sales internship.
- Clear written English: you can write a message a stranger actually replies to.
- Comfort with spreadsheets, including filters, simple formulas and a tracker that someone else can read.
- Comfort using LinkedIn to find and contact people professionally.
- A follow-up habit: you record who you contacted and when, and you send the next message on schedule.
- Availability to commit to the internship’s hours for its full six months, including the 8:30–10:30 am Eastern window on weekdays.
Education: Final-year students and recent graduates from business, commerce, economics, communication or any other field are welcome. Proof that you’ve persuaded real people matters more than your degree.
Nice to have
- Experience with a CRM or outreach tool such as HubSpot, Zoho CRM, Pipedrive or Apollo.
- Fluent Hindi or another Indian language alongside English.
- Earlier cold outreach, campus-ambassador or lead-generation work you can describe with numbers.
- Experience on a marketplace or two-sided product, such as Urban Company, Swiggy, Airtasker, TaskRabbit or Upwork.

About Taskly
Taskly is a marketplace for getting anything done. Someone posts a task in their own words — typed, spoken or as a photo — and people who have been reviewed and approved send offers at a firm price. They pick one, and it gets done: a TV mounted, a website built, a parent taught to use their phone. We’re live in Canada and India and opening to more countries, built by a small team that works remotely across India, the US, Canada and the UAE.
Questions about this role

Is the Business Development Intern role remote?

Who can apply for the Business Development Intern internship?
Students and recent graduates. It runs for 6 months. What you’ve built or tried on your own counts as much as coursework.

Pay isn’t listed here yet. It depends on the country you work from and your experience, and it’s discussed openly in your first conversation.

What does the hiring process look like?
A 45-minute conversation with the person you’d work beside, then one paid day on a real problem, then a decision in writing, with the reason.
Can I apply as a final-year student?
Yes, if you can commit to the internship’s hours for its duration. Final-year students and recent graduates are both welcome to apply.
Will I be cold-calling?
Mostly not. The work is written outreach on LinkedIn and email, with the occasional call, and we’d rather you send a thoughtful message than a hundred generic ones.
Something else? Ask it in your application. A person reads it and answers within ten working days.
We don’t use AI to screen, score or rank applications: a person reads every one. If you upload a resume, AI reads it only to pre-fill your form, and you check every field before you send.
Taskly is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome people of every background, gender, age, religion, disability, sexual orientation and nationality, and we don’t ask about any of them. If anything about the process doesn’t work for you, tell us in your application and we’ll change it.
