About the role
Taskly is hiring a Data Analyst (you may know the role as Product Analyst, Business Analyst or BI Analyst) to answer the questions the team argues about. Where do posters leave between posting a task and hiring someone? Which cities have more Taskers than tasks, and which have the opposite? Today those answers rely on opinions, and you will replace them with numbers.
You will report to the founder and work beside the engineers and the growth team. In six months, you should own the funnel dashboard from post to offer to hire. You should send a short weekly note on what moved and why, and have changed at least one decision with your work. The team is remote and shares one two-hour window each weekday, so clear writing matters.
What you’ll do
- Build and maintain the dashboard for the funnel: a task is posted, gets its first offer, is hired, and is marked done, with the drop-off at each step.
- Analyze supply and demand by city in the Greater Toronto Area and in India, and show where posters wait too long for an offer or Taskers wait for work.
- Write SQL against Postgres to answer questions from the founder, growth and operations, usually within a day and always with the query attached.
- Compare how tasks complete and cancel in Canada and in India, so the team can see what the different payment flows change.
- Track which channels (LinkedIn, Naukri, Instagram, YouTube) bring Taskers who get approved and finish a first task, not just sign-ups.
- Set up and read experiments: define the metric, check the sample size and write the result in one honest paragraph.
- Write a weekly note that opens with the recommendation, then the numbers behind it, so a busy reader can stop after two lines.
What you’ll need
- 1+ years in an analyst role, or strong internships and projects, using SQL every week.
- Fluent SQL: joins, CTEs and window functions. You check a result against a second source before you share it.
- You have built dashboards in Metabase, Looker Studio, Power BI, Tableau or a similar tool, and people used them.
- Comfortable with spreadsheets, plus enough Python or R to clean data and run a basic analysis.
- Working knowledge of funnels, cohorts, retention and basic statistics such as confidence intervals.
- You write findings in plain English, recommendation first, and you say how sure you are.
Education: A degree in any field is welcome but not required; analysis you have done and can walk us through matters more.
Nice to have
- Product analytics tools such as GA4, PostHog or Mixpanel.
- Experience at a marketplace (Airbnb, Uber, Urban Company, Swiggy, Airtasker, TaskRabbit, Upwork) or another two-sided product.
- dbt, or any experience turning repeated queries into reusable, tested models.
- Python with pandas for deeper analysis, such as cohort curves or simple forecasts.

About Taskly
Taskly is a marketplace for getting anything done. Someone posts a task in their own words — typed, spoken or as a photo — and people who have been reviewed and approved send offers at a firm price. They pick one, and it gets done: a TV mounted, a website built, a parent taught to use their phone. We’re live in Canada and India and opening to more countries, built by a small team that works remotely across India, the US, Canada and the UAE.
